A wire scratch brush is a very versatile tool to have for odd jobs around the home or shed.

This brush is great for deburring, rust and paint removal, cleaning, blending and surface preparation. It works particularly well in hard to reach areas that aren’t easily accessible with a power wire brush.

Brass – The brush bristles are made from a crimped brass wire. This type of wire creates no spark and is best suited to use on brass and copper surfaces.

Steel  – Suitable for the removal of paint and rust on steel, brass, iron, plastic and wood surfaces

Stainless Steel  – Premium stainless steel wire hand brush with increased resistance to corrosion in marine environments. Best used for brushing stainless steel and aluminium surfaces and getting into hard-to-reach areas.

Nylon – Abrasive impregnated nylon filament for corrosion and paint removal on steel, stainless steel, aluminium, copper, iron, plastic and wood.

Specifically designed for corrugated iron and Colorbond surfaces, the Corrugated Roof Brush features trimmed bristles that follow the roof profile—providing better contact, improved coverage, and more efficient cleaning with less effort.

• While it can be used as a hand brush for close-up work, it’s designed to be fitted with a handle for extra reach and better leverage.

• Dimensions: 254mm (L) x 50mm (W) x 75mm (H)

• Fits 25mm dia handle (handle not included)

This brush fits a standard 25mm timber broom handle, available at most hardware stores. To reduce freight costs, we recommend purchasing your handle locally. For longer reach, consider a 25mm timber dowel. Use wood glue to secure the handle, and add a nail or screw for extra strength.

Application & Maintenance Tips

Use the nylon version every 6–12 months to keep Colorbond roofs clean and extend the life of your roofing. Always brush in the direction of the corrugations. For more aggressive cleaning tasks or uncoated surfaces, the steel wire version is a strong and reliable choice.

Brass (Green Plastic Handle) – The brush bristles are made from a crimped brass wire. This type of wire creates no spark and is best suited to use on brass and copper surfaces. It can also be used on steel, stainless steel, aluminium, iron, plastic and wood – however Josco recommends either using the stainless steel or brass coated steel scratch brush varieties for these types of surfaces.

Brass coated Steel (Red Plastic Handle) – The wire bristles are made from a brass coated high carbon steel. This wire type provides high tensile strength and cutting performance. It is commonly used for demanding brushing and deburring applications. It is a very versatile wire type also, and can be used on steel, brass, iron, plastic and wood.

Stainless Steel (Green Plastic Handle) – The wire bristles are made from 316 graded stainless steel. This is a premium wire, ideal for Australia’s harsh climate conditions. Grade 316 has an increased resistance to corrosion in marine environments.  Josco recommends this product only to be used on stainless steel or aluminium surfaces in order to avoid rust contamination.
